Must have for new parents !
Every new parent needs this !As first time parents this is possibly one of our top purchases ! It contains the smell SO well. You can’t even tell that there are dirty diapers in the room.We don’t have the time or energy to empty out regular trash cans on a daily basis so this saves our sanity. Keeps the smell contained and only needs to be emptied every 2nd or 3rd day (for reference our baby uses 6-8 diapers a day)

Highly suggest getting things one instead of the cheaper version! You only pay a bit more but the durability is SO much better, holds more diapers, easier to change & set up new bag – no more are the days where you forget to tie the bottom and find out when you go to change it and they spill everywhere… and it looks much nicer in a room too!

Very Convenient…
This is a convenience more than a necessity. It is a nice trashcan and definitely helps remove the smell from diapers but if you’re a first time parent worried about money, this isn’t one of the necessities for a baby. Any trash can will work and just tape a deodorizer satchel to the lid.

Diaper Genie is amazing – but save your money on a ‘lesser’ model!
I purchased the Platinum Diaper Genie, and it has certainly served its purpose in containing the dirty diaper smells! However, the Platinum design was quite expensive, and I could have opted for one of the more standard Diaper Genie variations at a significantly lower price. Regardless, my fiancé and I are impressed with the scent containment of the Platinum Diaper Genie; we do, though, wish the unit was larger. Also, the Platinum refill bags are not commonplace like the standard models, so that is another concern with this particular Diaper Genie unit. All-in-all, the Platinum model is worth the money (but a standard model will serve just as well, too)!

Broke after a month and a half … not even.
Well I have had it for a month and a half and the lid/top completely broke off and the smell is definitely not contained…. After spending $100 I’m not very impressed …

Did not think that I needed one but it has been a life saver for the smell in the nursery. It lost one star cause anytime you open to put a diaper in it stinks sooo bad.

Honestly don’t understand people who complain about the smell! There’s virtually no smell! But I have been using it since newborn to present (10 weeks old), and baby is breastfed. Maybe the odor will be more noticeable with a baby that’s only eating food. Use the original diaper bag and remember to change the filter. 10/10
